PrimeExpert is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy describes the data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

2. Data We Collect
We collect the following data:
- Uploaded documents (invoices, quotes): processed by OCR to extract financial and technical data (amounts, contractor, type of work, VAT).
- Form data: email address, income data, household composition, Belgian region of residence — necessary for eligibility analysis.
- Payment data: managed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. Stripe acts as payment processor.
- Usage data: anonymized connection traces (masked IP address, timestamp, pages visited) — used solely for service improvement.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
- Contract performance (Art. 6.1.b GDPR): Data necessary for the service (OCR, analysis, PDF report generation) is processed for the performance of the service contract entered into by the user.
- Consent (Art. 6.1.a GDPR): Non-essential cookies (analytics, tracking) require your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time via our cookie management tool.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR): Anonymized usage data is processed in our legitimate interest of continuous service improvement.

5. Retention Periods
Your data is retained for the following periods:
- Uploaded documents (invoices, quotes): automatically deleted 12 months after your last use of the service.
- Form data and email: retained 12 months after your last use of the service.
- Payment data: retained in accordance with legal accounting obligations (10 years, Art. 31 Belgian VAT Code).
- Anonymized connection traces: retained for a maximum of 26 months.
6. Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Right of access: obtain a copy of all your personal data.
- Right of rectification: correct any inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right to erasure: request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations).
- Right to portability: receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to object: object to processing of your data for legitimate reasons.

7. Cookies
The PrimeExpert website uses cookies for:
- Essential cookies: required for the service to function (file upload, payment session). They do not require consent.
- Analytical cookies: used to measure website audience and improve the service. They require your explicit consent and can be refused at any time.

8. Transfers Outside the European Union
Some of your data is processed by providers located in the United States (Stripe, Render, OpenAI). These transfers are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) adopted by the European Commission, pursuant to Article 46.2.c of the GDPR.
These SCCs guarantee a level of data protection equivalent to that provided by the GDPR.
9. Data Security
PrimeExpert implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against any unauthorized access, modification, disclosure, or destruction, including: data encryption in transit (TLS), restricted access controls, and regular security practice reviews.
